Written as an homage to the Nancy Drew series, this humorous and GP-rated story about a teenage sleuth especially targets women baby boomers who grew up reading and loving the series. Nancy Keene, the teenage sleuth in our story, goes on vacation with her father and friends to the French Quarter. What starts out as a sight-seeing trip changes into a murder/mystery when a docent at Oak Alley Plantation is murdered while theyre there. This book mixes voodoo, ghosts, and bayous into a spicy gumbo of a whodunit. When Nancys not eating Bananas Foster at Brennans or riding the St.

Charles streetcar in the Garden District, shes being chased down Bourbon Street by a man who thinks she knows about a mysterious compound called Agent Q. Nancy teams up with her fun and funky Aunt Audrey, who loves sleuthing as much as she does. Like female versions of Lewis and Hathaway, they use all their smarts and connections to solve the mystery and help the murdered docent, Evangeline, cross over to the over side and be at peace.

Theyre not adverse to using voodoo to reach Evangelines spirit and Nancy finds out that there really are such things as ghosts. In a humorous PG-rated chapter, Nancy befriends The Lady Chablis when she seeks shelter in a gay bar on Bourbon Street. Chablis teams up with Nancy & Audrey as they try to figure out why the oil company has somehow inherited Evangelines house.
